Author in focus: Lisa Andel, Part III

Continuing my feature of Lisa Andel:

How much research do you put into the creatures in your books?

I don't research the creatures, I create them. The foundation for my beings is built on all the reading I've done over the years about paranormal creatures. I just don't feel I'm limited to the characteristics that have been instituted before.

What are your favorite creatures to write about? Why?

Creatures that wouldn't gross me out in person. I think I'd have trouble writing a zombie sex scene, you know?

Who is your favorite heroine that you've written about and what book was she from?

Tough call. I love all my heroines. Lisa, from Dead Again, and Kris, from Her Werewolf are probably the closest ones to me though. Those are the first two books I wrote, and I think I put more of myself into them then the other heroines.

Which of your works would you say is your favorite, so far?

It's gotta be Dead Again because that was the first one that got published.

Lisa's Awards / Nominations: Dead Again and The Trouble with Allie were nominated for CAPA awards. Flame Angel came in second for an NOR Award, and Three placed third at LR Cafe for Best anthology 2007.
