  • The Marquis de Lafayette. The coin, a commemorative silver dollar, was minted in 1899 to mark the centennial of Washington’s death, and was issued the following year in honor of Lafayette and the Paris Exposition of 1900.
What is a prebuttal?
  • A preemptive rebuttal made in anticipation of charges or claims by an opponent. The term came into use during Bill Clinton’s 1996 presidential campaign.
