Whatever Happened to the Hole in the Ozone Layer?

I hate all these flavor of the day world crises. Remember the coming Ice Age during the 70s? Or the Acid Rain in the early 80s?

Now we have Global Warming bullshit, but 25 years ago the world was in an uproar over The Hole In The Ozone Layer. After 25 years of legislation to prevent the chemicals that are harmful to the hole in the ozone layer over the South Pole, the hole has stabilized and started fixing itself. The problem, a new hole has appeared over the North Pole that scientists are blowing off as weather related since they have no clue.

In other words, someone gets rich off of these scares, they aren't for the betterment of mankind.
