Review Tuesday: 7 by TO THE PAIN

To The Pain
7
To The Pain is back with their sophomore release entitled 7. I was very excited to follow news from the band, thank you Facebook, since their first release.

Bio:
Formed in January 2012, To The Pain is an original metal band that hails from Long Island, New York. The bands sound consists of heavy melodic guitar riffs provided by Steve Shaver and Craig Piano along with driving rythmn section consisting of Jeremy Lustig on bass and Jimmy Klimatas on drums. Lead Vocalist John Intagliata's powerful and high pitched vocal range round out this 5 piece. To The Pain's debut record was released in June 2013. The band is finished recording there newest album 7 which has been getting air play and Great Reviews. The official release date for the album was June 20th as we headline Revolution Music Hall in Amityville, New York with a huge CD release Party.
Tracklist:
1) March of the Mankind/Heavens Carnage
2) Seven
3) Killzone
4) Is It My Turn To Die
5) Cry Out For Justice
6) Don't Eat The Eyes
When you hit PLAY, you are transported from calm and serenity to some distant, miserable horrible war-torn place in MARCH OF MANKIND.  The creepy march and sound effects prepare you for what's coming in HEAVENS CARNAGE

Somewhere between Slipknot and Anthrax, is where the track SEVEN resides. The crunchy guitars and clever double kick follows the vocals in a perfectly blended song.

The bpm is slowed down for KILLZONE, but your pulse won't! IS IT MY TURN TO DIE speeds things up again. Clever riffs and plaintive vocals are the hallmarks of that track. CRY OUT FOR JUSTICE has a chorus that hooks you in. Possibly my favorite song on this record is DON'T EAT THE EYES. It's just so much fun that you want to replay the whole record again so you can have your tasty dessert after the meatiness of the record.

This effort is more refined than the first record, yet retaining those important rough edges that a heavy record requires. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the real thing here. Honest to goodness heavy metal for all of you wondering where the genre went. Well, HERE IT IS!

In conclusion, I highly recommend that you buy this album. After you listen to it ONCE you'll find yourself walking around singing to yourself Don't Eat The Eyes. I love that song. Such a catchy tune!
