This is the NINTH studio album from Italian rockers Lacuna Coil. The three remaining original members are Cristina Scabbia (vocals) Andrea Ferro (vocals) and producer/bassist Marco Coti-Zelati

I think a good way to describe this album is MORE AGGRESSIVE. Lacuna Coil has been on a steady harder path for years now. I would say the band's signature sound is on its way out as the music seems more doom oriented and revolving more around Andrea's lead vocals over Cristina's luscious tones.

While this record is nicely polished and produced well, after multiple listenings over the months I don't find myself enamored with this record like some of their previous recordings. The band is clearly evolving, but into what? What originally drew me to this band years ago was the unorthodox approach to heavy metal with the Italian influences in the music and the dual dedicated singers. But now they kinda blend in more with those bands on the harder end of the spectrum losing much of their flavor.

It's still a good record, just doesn't feel like a Lacuna Coil record to me.
