My BPMS Star Wars / Star Trek Theme Contest Entry: Droid Fighter from Ep 3

The Corporate Alliance Droid Fighters first showed up in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. They were either green or tan, depending upon which artwork you saw. They showed up again in Episode 3, Revenge of the Sith in tones of gray and blue. They looked more vicious and warlike in the few moments they appeared. Also, they seemed to have taken on a new name: Vulture Droids. They had more tricks than originally shown such as missiles that contain Buzz Droids.

This model started it's life as an Estes model rocket. They were made around the time that Ep 1 came out. Lucas was expecting the merchandising to go crazy and sold rights to anyone who was willing to pay up for them. So Estes came out with a line of plastic model rockets that can double as a display piece. They came out of the box partially painted and raw plastic with a crappy looking base. I decided that the one needing the least work of their offerings was this Droid Fighter. The surfaces were largely devoid of detail. But with patience, sheet plastic, left over parts from other kits, and finally paint, a decent effect was attained. I think this solitary pic that I took actually makes this look better than the actual model. Nonetheless, I hope to play around with it a little more. Maybe more detail, more weathering. Who knows? For now it looks fine in this pic.

This was only my second, and likely final model of the year.
