I wanted to see SPLICE last weekend, but it wasn't playing at a good time, so we saw GET HIM TO THE GREEK instead.
In this movie they spin off the character Aldous Snow from the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall. He's a washed up rock star who happens to have to his credit the largest selling live album ever, but after a misguided failure of a record, his career died.
Sean Combs (yes, "Sean John" "P-Diddy" Combs) plays a record exec who is looking for something to breathe life and excitement into his record company. Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) has the idea of bringing Aldous Snow back for a 10th Anniversary Concert at the Greek Theater in LA. It's agreed upon, and the rest of the movie is about the adventure of getting a junkie rock star from London to NYC for an interview on the TODAY SHOW then on to LA for the big concert, all over the course of 72 hours.
In those 72 hours all manner of absurdity and hilarity ensues. If you have a funny bone, the antics on the screen will certainly tickle it! I think everyone expect Jonah Hill and Russell Brand to pwnz3r the screen, but Sean Combs puts on a shockingly amazing performance and truly steals the show.
I must say I had a great time watching this movie and if you're not offended by low-brow humor you'll get a kick out of it too. I'm thinking that that DVD will probably be better with added scenes and footage if you want to hold off, but it's worth seeing!
Here's a link to the funniest song in the movie: Furry Walls [Explicit]
