What's for dinner? De Cabo Bar and Lounge

One of the reasons why the wife and I like going to Puerto Rico so much (even though we're in Mexico as this posts) is the food. The problem in New York is finding a place with decent Puerto Rican cuisine. My wife and her friend found one place in Manhattan, but it's a haul if I want to have dinner with the wife there. In the shopping center at the corner of Francis Lewis Blvd and 34th Ave in Bayside, Queens, is a quaint little place called De Cabo.

I've been there twice. They have a rather brief menu full of tasty treats. Also, they make things that aren't even listed. My wife tried their shrimp mofungo, which was amazing. I had the carne frita (fried pork) with rice and beans. both dishes were delicious and authentic tasting.

The place also has a full bar. They didn't stock any beer from Puerto Rico, but there are plenty of other choices. The wife tried a Coquito, which is a thick coconut and rum drink which was expertly prepared.

The place is small and you could easily miss it stuck in the far corner of the shopping center, but once you find it, you'll be happy you did! well worth trying out!
