Review Tuesday: AFFLICTED (2014)

AFFLICTED

A guy diagnosed with a terminal disease travels across Europe to VLOG about his final days. Ends up being made into a vampire.

Despite loathing the vampire genre, Mrs. Bax0jayz selected this movie to watch. It's something of a "found footage film," sort of. Derek (Derek Lee) decides to tour Europe after being diagnosed with a serious ailment. He wants to make the most of his final days, while documenting it all on an internet VLOG. Less than a week in he meets a girl and everything changes. He developed strength, and speed, but also a sensitivity to the sun.

The rest of the film is dedicated to Derek's quest for the truth and how to deal with his new life. It's a different sort of vampire story and a compelling one at that. A lot of fun!
