Alisa has cock on the brain
We have about a half dozen Alisas as clients in my office. Everyone of them calls and only identifies herself by the first name, and usually gets annoyed when we ask for a last name. The one Alisa I refer to in this tale has been a client of the office almost as long as I've been working here. I knew her before she was married and had her own business. Now she's a mom, a housewife, and a MILF. Well, not a MILF like Kate Beckinsale, not hot yet sexy. Confident.
Alisa stopped by the office to speak with one of the partners last week. I walked by her and nodded a "hello" as I walked across our lobby to speak to the receptionist. As I concluded my brief word with the secretary I stood back up but looking over my shoulder and caught Alisa watching my ass. She didn't stop as I turned around. After a year and a half with a terribly outdated and not easily usable cellular phone,

The microphone was TOO sensitive. If I bumped the phone it would make an outgoing call. Stuff like that gets annoying fast. However, it was built like a tank; I dropped it a several times and it didn't even
get nicked and worked perfectly well afterwards. And since it was heavy, I named it "the hammer."

Looks like things never change.

Roush Claims 'Intellectual Espionage'

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (AP) -- Jack Roush's feud with Toyota is escalating over allegations of "intellectual espionage" - a case many say is much ado about nothing.
Roush has accused an unidentified Toyota team of stealing a swaybar created specifically for Roush Fenway Racing from one of RFR's teams at last fall's race at Dover, Del. And he wants NASCAR to make sure the team won't use information gained "by their ill-gotten means."
But Roush isn't laughing, calling the "theft" of the swaybar "intellectual espionage." He even said he was tempted to get a search warrant to claim the part and a restraining order to prevent the team from using any information gleaned from it.

PHILADELPHIA, Miss. - Poison drummer Rikki Rockett was arrested on a 
rape warrant and his case was turned over to the district attorney's office for possible grand jury consideration, officials said Friday.
Rockett, 46, was arrested Monday at or near Los Angeles International Airport, Los Angeles police said. He was booked and released, and was awaiting an extradition decision by Mississippi prosecutors.
A woman in Mississippi filed a complaint that she was raped on Sept. 23, 2007, at the Silver Star Casino, Neshoba County sheriff's investigator Ralph Sciple said.

A funny thing happened on the way to the bus...
Yesterday morning I pulled into my mother's driveway. I walked up the block headed for the Q28 bus stop by the athletic field. Along the way I passed PS 159, the Elementary School my nephews currently attend; my brother sister and I all attended; and my father also attended. As I walked along the school yard something on the pavement caught my attention. It looked like a toy knife, as there would be no reason a knife this size to be on the grounds of a grade school. I picked it up. It was a "Golden Elephant Automatic Knife" in good condition.
I had two options at this point: leave it and hope no child gets hurt with it, or impound it and take it with me. I took it with me. I have to say, playing around with this dangerous implement that I am glad I didn't leave it. A child could've easily gotten hurt with it.

Pendulum formed in their home-town of Perth (Western Australia) in 2002, when producers Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen teamed up with acclaimed local DJ Paul 'Elhornet' Harding. While their individual formative roots ranged from producing drum & bass, breakbeat and hardcore, to playing in metal and punk bands, their comparable talents proved an unstoppable force when they managed to single-handedly conquer the world of drum & bass in their first 12 months together.
After selling more than 200,000 units of their debut artist album "Hold Your Colour", remixing for such respected artists as The Prodigy, being play-listed and featuring regularly on BBC Radio 1, all whilst continuing to tour the world over as DJs...Pendulum decided that was finally time to take things to the next level - performing live.

While The Veronicas showed their talent for writing bright-sounding pop-rock tunes on Secret Life Of…(which Teen Vogue called "both sweet and vicious"), the girls take a stylistic leap forward on Hook Me Up by exchanging the debut's pop-punk stylings for a more sophisticated electro-beat feel.
"It's been more than two years since we wrote the first record so our musical tastes have changed a bit," Lisa says. "We've been living in Los Angeles where we got into the whole electro-pop rock scene. When it came time to write the album, we were really inspired by it musically."
"We didn't want to make a record that was the same as the first," Jess adds. "We definitely wanted to create a different sound for ourselves and reinvent The Veronicas. A lot has changed in our lives over the past two years. And we've changed a bit personally, so we had a lot to say. We wanted to spend the time creating this new sound, not just for us but for music in general."
Recorded at Lisa and Jess's home in the Hollywood Hills, Hook Me Up finds the girls collaborating with a host of top-notch hitmakers, including Shelly Peiken (Christina Aguilera), Greg Wells (Mika), John Feldmann (The Used, Good Charlotte), and the legendary Billy Steinberg (Madonna). Most of the songs, however, were written with their old friend Toby Gad, who contributed three tracks to Secret Life Of…. Each day, Gad, who also wrote Fergie's 2007 hit "Big Girls Don't Cry," would drive over to the girls' townhouse, where he'd set up a makeshift studio
"With Toby, we'd gossip and tell him all the drama in our lives," Lisa says with a laugh. Adds Jess: "That's why a lot of the songs we wrote with him come across as emotional and dramatic. I'd have to say this record is even more personal than the first one, which was hard because the first record was very much us."
Their collaboration resulted in eight tracks, from the album's dramatic first single "Untouched," to such razor-edged epics as the impassioned "This Is How It Feels" and the spiky "Revenge Is Sweeter," through to the funky "Take Me On The Floor" and "Popular." "It's a very beat-driven dance record, though there are a few ballads on there," Jess says. "It came out exactly how we wanted it to, so we're stoked."
Hook Me Up is the beginning of a new chapter in the Veronicas' stateside career. Secret Life Of… was released by Sire Records in February 2006 and debuted at Number Three on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Named a "Breaker Artist" by AOL and called "Australia's rockingest twins" by Blender, the girls were also praised by Entertainment Weekly for making "most of their female pop-rock rivals seem like jugheads." Indeed, critics agreed that the Veronicas were "the real thing" (as the New York Post put it).
Having performed together since they were five, Lisa and Jess, who hail from Brisbane, were primed for the fuss that was to follow, including being selected to appear in a Fall 2005 promotional campaign for Choice Calvin Klein and being feted by Teen Vogue and Jane magazine. They were also chosen to sing the title song for the WB show Related and appeared as themselves in an episode that aired in February 2006. In March, the album's first single "4Ever" was featured in the Amanda Bynes comedy She's the Man, as well as on the soundtrack.
"It's definitely been a crazy ride, " Lisa says, "and it can go so quick that you often need to take a look back to see how far you've come. The new songs sound a bit different, but I think there's always room for an artist to grow and develop. We just want to keep making music for as long as we can and we hope that people keep enjoying it."

New Tour Dates For Disturbed
Disturbed have just announced a new batch of spring headlining tour dates. Disturbed will be previewing new tracks from their upcoming new album, Indestructible, in stores June 3rd. The band are also scheduled to perform on the “Rockstar Mayhem Tour” this summer with Slipknot, DragonForce, and Mastodon. (New York, NY, March 24, 2008) Universal Republic rock icons 3 Doors Down are putting up massive radio numbers with their first single, “Its Not My Time,” from their soon-to-be released self-titled album, due in-stores on May 27. Their much anticipated fourth studio album has spawned rock’s biggest radio hit of the year so far, with the debut single becoming the fastest moving song at Active Rock radio in the past five years. The #1 most added song at Alternative radio the past 3 weeks in a row, “It’s Not My Time” was also the biggest Gainer at the coveted rock radio format, leaping from #20 to #16 as it closes in on the prestigious 50,000 mark in digital sales in less than a month of release.
“The early radio success of “It’s Not My Time” is an incredible indication of more great things to come from this band and this album,” stated Monte Lipman, President & CEO of Universal Republic Records. “3 Doors Down have become a signature presence in rock through hard work and passionate songwriting that speaks directly to their audience. The new CD has already got internet fans buzzing, with talk of other choice tracks such as the adrenalin-fueled “Train,” and the rousing “It’s The Only One You’ve Got”, pointing to more milestones from the Mississipi fivesome, from a new album steeped in rock anthems and power-driven radio hits. The follow-up to their #1 debut album, 2005’s Seventeen Days, lead singer Brad Arnold cites this effort as perhaps the most communal band effort. “3 Doors Down has always been about every band member giving everything we’ve got,” says the singer/songwriter. “On this album we really wanted to make every song count. We owe it to our fans who have been there to support us from day one.”
The group’s followers have embraced “It’s Not My Time” in record numbers, making it one of the bigger request records of the new year. The single’s jump from #10 to #4 on the Active rock chart marks one of the fastest launches into the Top Ten of any 3 Doors Down song in their history.
