As the weather cools down in the Northeast, the beer gets darker. Then October and November bring pumpkin ales! In the past I would just ask the local watering holes what pumpkin ale they had and would enjoy one. If I was lucky I would have one or two during the season and then I would be longing for the next Autumn. This year I went to the local beer distributor and picked up six different varieties of the Fall Elixir. They are all pricey, but they all taste good. They remind me of my mother's pumpkin pudding from my childhood. Funny, I hated the pudding, but LOVE the beer. How tastes evolve!
