Tino Coury Announces EP Release And Concert Series

Up Against The WallRising pop artist TINO COURY is set to perform a series of special shows and events nationwide kicking off February 14 in Chicago and visiting multiple cities including Cincinnati, Minneapolis and Pittsburgh through March. The concert series will include special performances and events by the Pittsburgh-bred, Los Angeles-based 22-year-old singer-songwriter-producer and multi-instrumentalist as well as a meet-and-greets with students at area schools (cities are listed below). TINO will digitally release PAGE ONE, a new 6-song EP available everywhere online via ELEVENTH RECORDS on February 22. This will be followed by a full-length debut album due out late summer, also on ELEVENTH RECORDS, distributed via Universal’s Fontana.

"Being on my school tour and getting the chance to talk to students about music is so cool! I was around the same age as them when I started to take music more seriously than just a secondary hobby,” explains TINO. “My hope for this tour is not only to share my music with everyone, but more importantly to share my story and inspire kids like me to follow their dreams no matter what they may be."

TINO’s new and first single from the EP, “Up Against The Wall” was just added to Sirius’s BPM, widely considered to be a leading dance station in the U.S. The rhythmically propulsive track is the follow-up to his first single “Diary”--which peaked at #38 on Mediabase/BDS Top 40 chart and reached #11 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club chart. Check out “Up Against The Wall,” which will impact radio on February 20, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ2AqpmG1kQ. TINO produced the song himself, working with Grammy-winning mixer Manny Marroquin (Usher, Alicia Keys).

2010 was a break-out year for TINO and 2011 finds him running full-steam ahead. TINO has earned fans all over the country by performing on national and local TV and appearing at concerts with Jason Derulo (at the sold-out The Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza), Drake, Train, Iyaz, New Boyz, Mike Posner, Kelly Rowland, Kris Allen, and The Backstreet Boys, among many others. Tino recently performed as part of Los Angeles’ #1 hit music station 102.7 KIIS FM’s 2010 Jingle Ball Village in L.A. LIVE where later that night Katy Perry, Nelly, B.o.B., Far East Movement and Bruno Mars, among others, took the stage.

The serious buzz surrounding TINO began this past May when “Diary,” landed on over 50 Rhythmic/Top 40 stations in its first week of release, an achievement unrivaled in recent history by any new independent artist. Billboard magazine praised the song: “Despite its themes of betrayal, dissatisfaction and letdown for its lead singer, the song’s sticking point is an irresistibly buoyant beat that should keep listeners tuned in and dancing” (6/19/10). “Diary” has logged over 1.2 million views on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/tinocoury#p/f/2/S83xZjjgu4c.
