Haley Reinhart & The American Idol 2011 Top 11 Wish For A World Free of Plastic Pollution

Haley Reinhart and the 2011 American Idol Top 11 have come together for a great cause: inspire and lead people to REFUSE disposable plastic, the greatest source of plastic pollution on our planet. 11/1/11 is the beginning of the American Idol Top 11’s PSA and Wish campaign, in partnership with the thousands of members of the Plastic Pollution Coalition from around the world. It’s their wish that we all stop using single-use and disposable plastics and that together, we raise $50,000 for the Plastic Pollution Coalition. Anyone who contributes to the Wish will be automatically entered to win a brand new Gibson guitar signed by ALL of the Season 10/ Top 11 along with some other great prizes! (See below for more info).

Director/Producer Kate Miller and Mirror Films have created an exclusive video for Plastic Pollution Coalition that stars all of the Season 10 / American Idol Top 11. They have all generously donated their time and efforts to the REFUSE campaign - a global strategic initiative aimed at inspiring people to end their dependence on disposable plastic.

Plastic pollution is one of the greatest threats facing our planet today. Plastic bags, bottles, straws, lids, containers, and cups are everywhere. Plastic simply doesn’t go away. Every bit of plastic ever made is still with us, on our planet, in the air, in every community, and increasingly, in our bodies. Most plastic containers leach toxic chemicals into the food or drink they contain. These chemicals can even show up in our bloodstreams. Stopping this is a matter of self-preservation.
