Mrs Bax0jayz was recently asking to watch something in horror that we haven't yet tried. Shockingly, we had never previously watched any of the films in this franchise so we gave it a shot.
JEEPERS CREEPERS
[2001]
Every twenty three springs for twenty three days something awakes to eat in rural Florida.
You follow Trish and Darry, brother and sister, as they try to get home from school. The only trouble is that the Creeper has decided it likes the scent of fear from Darry. The rest of the flick is about the youths trying to evade the relentless killing machine.
We found the movie and the entire concept behind it refreshing and original. While you kinda get to the the villain relatively early in the movie, you don't really find out what it is, if you can even say that you know what it is, until around 3/4 of the way in. The suspense creeps you out and at the edge of your seat. You can never be sure where the movie is going right up to the shocking ending.
Fun. Clever. Terrifying.

JEEPERS CREEPERS 2
[2003]
The Creeper continues his feeding frenzy.
Taking place about four days after the events of the first movie, the Creeper decides to take aim at a school bus full of high school football players.
Since the cat is already out of the bag, there was no need to build up the suspense this time. After a little bit of character development The Creeper gets right down to business. However, in this installment most of the characters are awful people and you find yourself cheering for the Creeper to carry them off.
While the first installment was pretty amazing, this one had several issues. There was a girl who started having moments of clairvoyance for the first time in her life and knew all about the villain. Why? How? The Creeper was acting less like a relentless murder machine and seemed to have some comedy writers this time around. There was one scene that seemed to go on WAY too long when the kids learn how they stack up on the Creeper's menu.
The Creeper is defeated in the most head-scratching way. It really made no sense. However it left a wide opening for a third installment.
JEEPERS CREEPERS 3
[2017]
The Creeper continues his feeding frenzy.
This installment takes place between parts one and two of Jeepers Creepers. This unpolished turd shockingly hit theaters, albeit for only TWO DAYS last year. It looks, feels and stinks of low-budget SYFY made for television movie. There suddenly appears an anti-Creeper team with slick leather jackets and blown-out hair who seems to know more then less about the creature than you'd think. There's a ton of new details about the monster that are tossed out there and never developed and is left making you wonder what were they thinking when they were editing this mess together. The acting was mostly subpar. The special effects were lack-luster and the script seemed like poor improvisation. This final chapter was a complete disappointment that ruined the franchise.
