AVENGERS
INFINITY WAR
Heroes gather to stop Thanos from decimating half of the lives in the universe in what he considers a mission of mercy.
This movie picks up directly after THOR: RAGNAROK. The Asgardians are intercepted by Thanos and our heroes are dealt their first major defeat. From that point on it just spirals downward for the good guys. Overwhelmed and overpowered, The Avengers as well as The Guardians of the Galaxy try to stop Thanos on different fronts.
The cast is great. The visuals are stunning. The story is quite good. The ending is pretty unexpected. This is like the Empire Strikes Back of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Our heroes fought valiantly, but are still left with a major defeat, and things looking generally bleak.
This is an unusual movie in the way that it doesn't have a candy-coated happy ending that most super hero stories provide us. Instead we are shown that just like regular people, those with the most power con still fail. It's such a strange feeling at a movie like this because when the lights come on after the end that the silence in the theater is palpable. You're shocked by what you just watched. And don't worry, I am giving away nothing with what I wrote above. You have no idea what sort of roller coaster ride you are in for with this film.
If you like superhero movies, this is pretty amazing for the genre. Everything about it was on point.
