mulligrubs \MUHL-i-gruhbz\, noun:
  • Ill temper; colic; grumpiness.
This fanciful formation was developed in 1599 as a synonym for 'a fit of the blues' and an alteration of megrims.

christ on a crutch
  • An expletive usually expressing disbelief or exasperation. It is the opposite to that of a Christian person saying. Christ on the cross. Somewhat akin to saying Shit on a stick.
Christ on a fucking crutch, will you shut up and give me a break?

With a sigh and a shake of the head: Christ on a crutch, I can't believe how stupid this is.

Raving to Jesus
  • A condition usually applied to houses in the Christmas time that are completely covered in flashing lights and a Nativity scene. A house will only be raving to Jesus if the lights are flashing and a Nativity scene is present.
I couldn't sleep last winter, the house across the street was raving to Jesus.

Christmas Eve Eve
  • The day before Christmas Eve, 2 days before Christmas.
Stay away from the malls on Christmas Eve Eve.

Holiday
  • Festivus ("for the rest of us") An alternative to the crass commercialization of Christmas, typically celebrated on December 23. It involves The Airing of Grievances (telling your family and friends all the ways they have disappointed you during the year) and does not end until the Feats of Strength (pinning the head of the family) are accomplished. A plain, metal pole is used in lieu of a Christmas tree, because decorations (such as tinsel) is distracting from the true meaning of the holiday.
A Festivus for the rest of us! -George Costanza
