The Walking Dead
Season 10
Our groups of survivors continue to deal with THE WHISPERERS.
We are still in a post-Rick Grimes world. The survivors are still weary of the Whisperers after their brutal display of power along the boundary line. The trouble remains that usually a single person is smart, cool and collected, but groups of people develop the mob mentality. You almost expect the groups to make bad decisions that will ultimately hurt the way they live, but the one person who continues to make ridiculous mistakes is Carol. Her character is as annoying as ever letting her emotions get the best of her, usually with terrible effects, even costing lives.
Darryl, Michonne, Aaron, and Ezekiel all step up as more hands-on leaders since Rick is gone and Maggie vanished without a trace. I am kinda trying to figure out their endgame when both were vital characters right up through the end of the comic book.
But I digress.
Alpha in the comics was a clever leader. She was brutal, but understood her daughter was too soft for Whisperer living. In the show, she's just some delusional sado-masochistic lunatic with moments of strategic genius and bent on destroying her neighbors. She's so cartoonish that she doesn't even seem like a credible character, forget about as a LEADER.
This story-line feels like it's been going on FOREVER and for the first time since I picked up this series I feel myself losing interest. It just drones on and I just tune in because it's more of a habit than for the entertainment. However, with the team meeting Princess and heading off to meet members of another community, we are finally in the final story arc from the comics. I hope they pull it together and make it somehow coherent from the disarray they have created.
And another thing! Due to poor planning, we didn't even get a proper season finale. We got 15 EPISODES with the finale coming out whenever they get around to completing it. Corona Virus, you know. Can't even prepare 16 episodes a year on time. What gives?
