Review Tuesday: The Innkeepers (2011)

The Innkeepers
When a quaint old hotel is set to shut down, the last two employees decide to investigate the place's reputation.
Quite a while back Mrs Baxojayz selected this movie for date night viewing. It's called a horror / thriller so it's what we like to see.

The setting is nice, it takes place in an old hotel that's been sold and being renovated. The two employees are there for the final weekend, 24 hours a day to take care of the few final guests before shutting down. With an abundance of down-time, the workers investigate the strange things that have been known to go on in this place.

The move is more than one and three quarters hours of development and suspense. It probably could've been less long-winded and would've been improved with some editing. But they didn't. It was just a slow paced horror movie that finally comes to its conclusion and you are glad it's finally over.

The cast do a fine job and the movie is nicely polished, but was simply too long.

Not a bad movie to watch for free, but I wouldn't spend any money on it.
