Review Tuesday: HAUNT (2019)

HAUNT
(2019)
A group of friends go to an EXTREME HAUNT for Halloween and immediately regret it.
One night Mrs. Bax0jayz decided she wanted to see a horror movie. Yes! Mrs. bax0jayz, this time, not my best friend?!?! She selected this one because it looked pretty creepy.

The movie starts with Harper breaking up with her abusive boyfriend on Halloween. To cheer up, she goes to a party with friends. Collectively they decide to go to a haunted house attraction outside of town that was getting great reviews. The place seems off from the start, but it's assumed that it's part of the show. The things really go bonkers and the group of friends have to try to get out of this HAUNT alive!

The idea isn't very original. A haunted house attraction being run by a bunch of psychopaths murdering the kids who come for some Halloween scares. As long as you don't think about the story AT ALL, it should be okay. But if you do, there are weird things like, the Devil villain seemed to be stalking Harper from the start. Was he? If so, why? What was the motivation for the psychos to murder the kids? I mean, if people who went to a haunted house never returned, wouldn't that be noticed? How did they rent this facility? Someone must have a name written down. Why were the nuts all disfigured? Why did the last psycho risk going after Harper's mom instead of getting out of town?

For teh scares and gore-pr0n this wasn't a bad horror film, but the story had so many plot-holes that it became distracting. It IS well made and look polished. With some better writing and editing this could've been way better. Not bad to watch for free on AMAZON, however....
