Review Tuesday: EUREKA (2006-2012)

2006-2012

A US Marshall becomes the sheriff of a small hidden down named EUREKA that develops advanced technologies. Mayhem and humour ensues. 

Around a year and a half ago my best friend got some tragic news. She knew she needed a diversion to deal with the rough road that was upcoming. She asked if we could watch a charming and wholesome sci-fi/comedy as a distraction. How could I refuse? 

 

Here's the show in a nutshell: Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) is an old-fashioned get-your-hands-dirty cop who gets enlisted to become the sheriff of Eureka. This is a secret and protected town used to cultivate new technologies for the USA. As such, it's full of really smart people with egos and conflicting personalities who need someone like Jack to protect them from themselves. 

 

Indeed, the show IS charming and wholesome. It's truly a lot of fun. Plus the selection of really good looking women in the cast is surprising. It was a lot of fun and I found myself looking forward to watching it. There is another show called WAREHOUSE 13 that's related. That review will be coming up some day. In the long run, the show served it's purpose. It did take my friend's mind off of things while watching the absurdities of supposedly "smart people."
