The Visitors
2025
When a young couple knocks on the door late at night, they aren't who they seem to be.
Earlier this month my BFF was all excited to announce that we were going to see this new movie ONE DAY before it's official release. She kept saying how she wasn't even sure how it was possible but she definitely HAD to see this movie. Okay. Why not? Famous last words...
The movie starts off with a family moving into their "new" home. It appears to be a farm property in the middle of nowhere, yet the family aren't farmers. The parents and kids are a an odd looking group, so you suspect something must be up. Then, late at night someone knock at the door. It's an even stranger couple with a terrible attitude demanding to be let in because their RV broke down nearby.
This movie spent a lot of time trying to arouse your suspicion. Then it spent a lot of time trying to establish some solid plot-line. Instead it's some terrible mess. They establish potential story threads and does nothing with them. Then things happen with absolutely no explanation at all. This movie felt like a poorly stitched together patchwork quilt of various ideas that don't interweave at all. A disappointing waste of time.
