A restored cyborg has surprising abilities.
I think I read a bunch of the Gally books a couple decades ago. They were easy to read and charming, while also extremely harsh and violent. I developed an interest in the character because there weren't too many model kits from the series, and the few there were, were beautiful. Out from nowhere, literally because I wasn't looking for it, Youtube popped up a link for the full 1993 animated movie. It was only an hour, so why not?

So I will just go directly to, it was pretty good. It was more like a cliff-notes version of the books and it cut through a bunch of development that, I suppose, wasn't entirely necessary for getting the story told. So this is the first phase of her story. How Gally (Alita in the Western versions) was created and became a bounty hunter. The only part that's somewhat jarring is the little girl voice given to Gally, who is an impressive killing machine. One moment she's all cutesy, the next she's decapitating some criminal. I would still call that par for the course if you have any background with anime. Japanese cartoons aren't kid-stuff. Children are usually the stars. They are making hard decisions and taking huge responsibilities for their own lives, the lives of others and for the future.

If you haven't seen it but are curious, you can watch it free on various outlets, but here's the YT link I used:
