The Exorcist
1973
The classic 1973 film about demonic possession.
It's still spooky season! So one night I asked Mrs bax0jayz to select a movie and she was having terrible difficulty with it. While flipping through horror titles I noticed THE EXORCIST.

"Have you ever seen this before?" I queried.

"No," she stated in a surprisingly firm tone.

"This is the ORIGINAL film about demonic possession. Look at the amazing reviews... for a HORROR movie! We MUST see it!" I said.

And she agreed!

What is there to say? Horror films are usually half-baked, poorly filmed, and poorly developed. This movie is quite the opposite. Running at over two hours, THE EXORCIST is wonderful because of the build and development.

You know what? I had planned to write an entire thesis style review on all the many reasons why this was a benchmark for horror. But why should I? You should just watch it if you haven't already, and if you have, this is the perfect time of year for a refresher. The slow build getting to the ultimate battle between good and evil is perfect and rewarding.

So, yeah, loved it!
