Awesome yet depressing song of the day

Mr Bright Side by The Killers. How is it that a band that sounds and looks like Duran Duran can put out such a happy sounding song that is so depressing? And if it's so depressing, why do I love hearing it? Well, great work. I wonder what other happy / depressing songs are on that record. I may need to look into this.
