I don't think people have a clue what going on a diet is all about. I keep hearing people saying, "I know someone who went on that diet, but when they went off it they gained the weight back."
So what exactly do you mean by, "When they went off they gained it back?"
"Going back to the way they used to eat."
Don't you understand that a diet isn't just to drop weight. You must embrace a new lifestyle if you hope to lose weight an keep it off. No diet in the world will reduce your weight and keep it there if you go back to eating the things that caused the damage in the first place.
About two weeks before my wedding I went on Atkins and dropped 10 pounds pretty easily. I continued to be low carb after that and kept my weight leveled off for about a year and a half. But after nonstop pressure to add all those carbs back into my diet I've gained a lot of weight back and then some. The perfect illustration of my point, when I made the change in lifestyle I kept a steady lower weight, never getting past 165, but being in the 150 range. Now I'm steadily above 165 and I hate it.
I think I need to make a change again.
