I did possibly the stupidest thing today

Today New York got hit with it's first powerful snowstorm if the season. By the time 4:00 in the afternoon rolled around there was already about 6 inches of snow on the ground. So what does my wife decide to do? Visit her parents even though all the news programs are highly recommending that people stay off the dangerous roads.

A drive that usually takes about 5-10 minutes took about an hour. I really don't have worries about my car handling the weather, but I worry about the other fools on the road. You have the guys in the big trucks racing around. You have the guys with the ill-equipped cars, front or rear wheel drive, sliding all over the road.

We stayed about 3 hours and went back home.

By the time we got home there was a foot of snow on the ground. It took over an hour to shovel all that.

I was really looking forward to staying home and shoveling a little every couple of hours as opposed to moving huge piles. I'm pretty tired now. I think it's time to get some rest.
