How Soon Is Now by the Smiths (Singer: Morrissey) is one of the all time greatest depressing songs to hear. It STILL sends shivers down my spine each time I hear it even though they play the Love Spit Love version on ALL the witch shows and movies. Great song. No one can screw it up. Even Tatu covered it and it was good. The lyrics:I am the son
and the heir
of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and heir
of nothing in particular
You shut your mouth
how can you say
I go about things the wrong way
I am human and I need to be loved
just like everybody else does
I am the son
and the heir
of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and the heir
of nothing in particular
You shut your mouth
how can you say
I go about things the wrong way
I am human and I need to be loved
just like everybody else does
There's a club if you'd like to go
you could meet somebody who really loves you
so you go, and you stand on your own
and you leave on your own
and you go home, and you cry
and you want to die
When you say it's gonna happen "now"
well, when exactly do you mean?
see I've already waited too long
and all my hope is gone
You shut your mouth
how can you say
I go about things the wrong way
I am human and I need to be loved
just like everybody else does

I love that song, but I have to admit it does drag on a little bit.
Yeah, they probably could've shortened that ending by about a minute easily.
Still an ace song though. What do you think of Bigmouth? Personally I think that's the best thing they ever did.
Why can't Marr and Morrissey just get over there differences? Ok the Healers were nice, and ...Quarry was better than most of Morrissey's solo efforts, but wouldn't you just love to see them together again?
Morrissey is wonderfully depressed. His greatest creations were in teh Smiths, but he's done fun stuff since then like "We hate it when our friends become successful." What a gem that is. It's the greatest 2.5 minutes of music to hit the radio. LOL
