Who cares about modern technology?

In my office I am always the last one to get equipment upgrades. Since I don't mess things up, and never complain, it's probably my own fault.

So the boss needed a new HDD and Win XP on his pc. It turned out to be cheaper just to buy a new machine. For about $400 they came up and installed a new system for the boss, less the monitor.

When the boss' wife came in she was slapping her sides. "How will people know he has the latest technology?" she groaned.

Hmmm???

"He didn't get a flat monitor. He's using the same old one. How will people know he has the latest technology?"

I laughed and said, "We haven't had anyone come in yet asking if we had the latest technology and the latest technology doesn't make a difference unless you have the right software and smarts to use it."

Shaking her head she stormed out of the office. A couple weeks later the monitor for the ol' server (Pentium 450) gave out. So the boss put his monitor, which is better than mine, on the server that we use the screen on for about 5 minutes a day. I guess the condition of my eyes isn't important in the long run. The boss got his flat screen. Mrs Boss came in with a big smile, "NOW everyone will see we have the latest technology." I went back to my station, P3 550mhz with a blurry 15" monitor. <_<
