Stress

Thought of the day: Nosebleeds can't be good.

So this is now officially tax season crunch time. As predicted about a month before the due date (April 15th) we've had a huge influx of work. I've been staying pretty late. Last night I got home after 9:00. I think it'll likely be the same today. My back has been hard as a rock due to stress. Stacey tried to knead the muscles last weekend and wasn't really able to budge them. Jay gave me some muscle relaxants which made a big difference. But there's always something new. This morning I had a tissue full of blood.

Now I am working on a tax return that I already know can't be finished, and the bitch didn't even give us any info but she NEEDS to know if she owes taxes. Based on what she provided us I have no idea if she owes anything, but I can tell she's a stupid bitch.

Our server's tape backup system went down last week. Well, not really went down, we outgrew it. It was sold to us as a 20 GB tape backup. In the fine print, it will hold a backup of 20gb of data as long as it's compressed in a 2:1 ratio. That's not possible, so now that we're beyond 12 gigs of data we've outgrown the device. Of course this happens during tax season and the system is offline, allowing me to rant a little today. Our new optical backup drive should be able to hold 10x the data, but costs about a grand.

And there's sleet or snowballs or crushed ice coming down now. It's an ugly, nasty winter day out there. A perfect day.
