Why are women terrible with money?

There is a huge misconception in this world: Women are better with money matters.

In many families the lady of the house is the one who keeps the checkbook in line. In many companies the bookkeeping staff is largely or completely female. I think it's because women tend to have more patience with the tedious minor number crunching. Many men just couldn't be bothered.

But as a tax accountant I just see time again women making the absolute WORST monetary decisions. From what I see, women just rpefer not to pay taxes until the government comes around knocking on their door.

Ways this has manifested itself:

1. Underwithholding payroll taxes at an alarming rate.
2. Refusal to pay estimated taxes.
3. Making their husbands underwithhold to that they "can have their money NOW."

It's revolting behavior. Many of these hags would even prefer to pay interest and penalties for underpayment of taxes just so that they have use of their own money during the year.

It's just annoying to me to see this money grubbing attitude. Disgusting. There's no benefit to poor money management like this.
