Fourth of July near Fiasco

We've been planning a road trip for this weekend for months. We're heading for the 6 pound burgers in Pennsylvania, as well as rest an some sights while we're there.

The original plan was to go in t3h wag00n, but it's been acting up. My brother-in-law, who's coming, said he'd drive as a back up. That is, until he started having some problems with his car. He's been working on the car every weekend for over a month making the car in top form. He's been having idle problems and they even "forced" the computer to learn the proper idle. Then what happens? The Check Engine light goes on TODAY. We're LEAVING today.

He called me immediately to let my wife know that her car is up. When I told her this she flipped. She starts with the accusations, "I knew this was going to happen," etc. She made it seem like Manny and I actually PLANNED for our cars to crap out on us like this.

So she gets to work looking for a rental, and luckily she found ONE. There's a place on Hempstead Turnpike that had one Suzuki Aerio available. Someone had just cancelled their reservation and Stacey lucked out and called at the right moment.

This could be very interesting, as this is one of the cars I was considering as a wag00n replacement.

More news as it becomes available...
