Too hasty perhaps?

Over the weekend I spent a little time working on t3h wag00n. I figure I have to get rid of this thing, so I might as well fix things up so it's sellable. You do a couple little jobs and it really brings the value of the car up.

So I finished up the cooling system flush that I had been doing for the last week. The water was FINALLY clear. Excellent. Then I changed the oil. It's funny how I had one last oil filter left in the garage. With more than 3,000 miles I still drained out more than 3 quarts of oil. Not bad for a car with more than 200,0000 miles on it. I installed a replacement dash cluster. The old one had a broken fuel gauge. During the week I installed a water temperature sensor.

When we went out yesterday we drove that old car. The shock, and near terror set in. It was running perfectly and rather cool at that. I had that sinking feeling in the pit of my gut. I went out a week prior and bought a brand new car because I didn't think I could solve the Subaru puzzle. At that moment I faced the realization that I finally DID solve the problem. I didn't even bleed out all the air in the system and it's running cool.

I've been priding myself on my level of patience that I have these days, and if I remained patient for another week the wag00n would've been fixed. Ugh.

I still totally love my new car, but the thought that I bought a new car because of a $20 sensor just turns my stomach. That's the epitome of what I hate in most people. When they have a little set back with a car, they'd run out and buy a new one.

Be that as it may, I think I will continue with a couple other little jobs to get the Subaru in top condition so I can get top dollar. Afterall, the winter is coming and the Legacy has full time 4wd. I think I can reel in a couple grand if I play my cards right.
