I was terribly ill. I was suffering from a cold. It seemed like a rather bad cold at that. I plopping ym trusty AIRBORNE tablets a couple times a day since Friday to build up my immunity against the invading germs. But something seemed off. I had a very odd variety of body aches and an overall sick feeling even worse than that of a usual cold. But the sniffles and clogged sinuses were just about beaten into nothingness?
Stacey, unwittingly hit on it. She suggested that I drink lots of fluids. I usually do so, but lately I haven't been. In fact, despite illness and the blazing heat, I spent the weekend doing all my normal chores and then some. Helping Manny finish up those pesky fuel and brake lines on the 1991 Camaro. On Sunday we spent ohours wandering around the Belmont Car Show and Swap Meet. For me that show was a bust in all ways imaginable. It costs $9 to get in and the vendors just get worse and worse. I got a sticker for the car, Woody woodpecker with a cigar in the corner of his mouth, and a hammer handle. Both together didn't even add up to the cost of admission. Suck ass.
But I essentially went the day with very little to drink. I had some beers, but that only makes it worse. So per Stacey's suggestion I drank a half gallon of lemonade. I get vitamin c, sodium, and sugar into my system that way. And by the end of the day I perked up like a plant. Maybe it was just a coincidence, and the cold was just letting up at teh same time, but the fact that I hadn't hit the bathroom in a day kinda establishes that I was drastically low on body fluids.
I'm still hydrating.
