Provided by the compucert I hear commercials on a regular basis regarding how great LIPA is doing this year. They're meeting and exceeding power needs, speedy service, blah, blah, blah.
Yesterday was out first big summer thunderstorm in a while, possibly the first in many parts for the year! We got home about 10:00 or so. The way every clock in the house was blinking it was fairly obvious there was at least one power failure during the day. That's fine. I can allow that that. I'd be able to set the alarm and sleep soundly, with no worries.
Of course not!
Between the hours of 1 and 4 AM the power went down about 3-4 times. A real pain in the neck. It appears that LIPA was doing some work on the power and had to bring down power for blocks at a time overnight. How it happens that power has to go down in places that are functioning for this repair is really beyond me. All I know is that I'm terribly exhausted and can't wait to call it a night, tonight.
