OMG! Asthma!?!?

I've had a busy last couple of days. Yesterday I had to go to the offices of NYS and the IRS over in Uniondale, NY for the slow pokes who still haven't given us their info. Less than forty, no biggie.

I tried to go to the DMV, as my registration for the new Ford finally arrived, and it has an ERROR! It's down as a 4 door sedan, when it's a 2 door hatchback. When I got there the line was out the door and out to the street! I kept going.

I went to the Ford dealer for touch up paint for my wife's car. The dealer near my house said they had it. I get there. Guess what? They don't. They have to order it. It'll be in in about a week. Jerks.

And I felt a tightness in my chest. I flashed back to the night before...
I had gotten home from Jeff's place and I started to choke. The choking continued and got worse. It got to the point that I couldn't breathe at all. It hit me, I was having an asthma attack! But how? I haven't had this in years. Maybe once in the beginning of the marriage, that's it. Maybe.

So I recalled having an inhaler. I went to my solarium and grabbed it. I took two puffs, per doctors orders and felt relief in moments. My breathing became normal.
I realized immediately, I didn't pack the inhaler. I slowed down, took my time, and when I got into the car I blasted the a/c. The labor of my breathing ceased, but I knew I had an appointment downtown when I got into the city. That's where I was about a month ago when I had a similar event that I couldn't breath. That was also some form of an asthma attack as well. So I backtracked and fetched it to ease my troubled mind.

I didn't want to collapse while choking on the unhelpful NYC streets. I don't even have a cell phone.

Well, I insured no further attacks by getting the thing. My breathing has been fine ever since I tossed it into my briefcase.

Regarding my asthma, I was given the inhaler in 1998 when my doctor misdiagnosed a lung infection as asthma. He gave me the inhaler. But I did suffer occasional fits of asthma, usually triggered by cats, and possibly other furry animals. A couple times I seemed to get it for no reason, but now I question it. I could've been to a pet shop and it created a problem that manifested itself later. Whatever. I'm an accountant, not a doctor, so I won't dwell on it too long.

However, I am terribly curious what set me off this week. I'm guessing that the "poor air quality warnings" aren't nonsense and should be heeded. Now I have something new to consider before leaving the house.
