Man with a walking stick

This guy should qualify as a Real New York Monster.

The other day I was going down the stairs behind this guy who was moving very slowly. I noticed that he had a cane so I didn't let it get to me. Afterall, he has something wrong with him, didn't he?

When he arrived at the bottom of the staircase he continued to stroll slowly, but had switched the cane to his other hand.

'Oh,' I thought, 'it's not a cane. It's a walking stick. Evidently he requires some assistance, but nothing major.'

He continues blocking the way, so there's no way around him, but it's excusable, he's an older gentleman with a walking stick. Same thing through the turnstyle and the next set of stairs.

Then it happened. He held the lovely ivory-handled walking stick at around chest height and didn't use it for the stroll down the platform at all.

At this point I started becoming exasperated. This guy is walking slowly with a cane that he doesn't need to use, blocking the walkways apparently for no better reason than his own amusement. I hate it when people force others to comply with their idea of respectable speed.
