Another day goes by, and the camera issue is still killing me. In these final days of a project work gets done rapidly and without a cam handy I can't document the progress very well. At least I can try to describe what I'm up to, so here goes...
I finally layered on the base flesh to a satisfactory opaque covering. It's ready for washes and will likely need only about one hour of work for the flesh tones to be done.
The goggle frames were painted steel, the strap is flat black, the lenses, blue metallic. Looks good.
The buckles and zipper were also painted steel. I've chosen steel because you can darken it with a wash and then highlight it with aluminum to really set it off. It creates luster and brilliance like real metal. I learned that trick years ago painting 25mm knights decades ago.
The gauntlets were painted flat black just to break up the look of the figure. Too much of "one shade of black" doesn't look right. I used Future Floor Wax on the boots and belt to give them a different look, also breaking up the tones.
The whip got it's black paint. With a little drybrushing it'll be ready for attachment to the figure. I might not glue it in, as I'm thinking about changing the whip in the future.
There won't be any updates tomorrow. Maybe Friday if the new camera arrives in time.
