There was once a time that the workers across this nation were abused by their employers. Then came labor laws and labor unions to protect the workers from terrible management. Of course, that was decades ago. Now the employees are being represented by greedy unions that try to get these largely non-educated workers tons of money and benefits. They do better than many professionals I know.
The latest contract dispute in New York is the Transit Workers Unions versus the Metropolitan Transit Authority. As it is, the workers already have unbelievable pay and benefits. Now they are fighting for an 8% raise each year for the next 3 years and no copay on the medical. They also want to be able to retire at 50. Pretty nice goal for a bunch of lazy losers who do nothing but whine about pay, meanwhile they already make around $60,000.
"They need a wage that can pay for food on the table," Pat Lynch of the PBA stated last night. What a total crock of shit. Don't buy a BMW 5 series and you can easily afford a nice meal, you stupid lazy bastards.
Today I had to take one bus and 5 trains to get into the city. The bus was moving very slow, even though the roads were pretty empty. There were missing trains. It took two #7 trains to get to Queensboro Plaza. Along the way the one I was on went out of service. I got on an N train that immediately went out of service. I hopped on the next #7 into Grand Central. The #6 didn't seem to be running, as the platform was jammed. I had to jump the #5 express. I passed my stop and had to walk back down. More than two and a half hours of commute from my home to the office that usually takes me about one and a quarter or one and a half hours.
The whole way you see these snickering, sneering, lazy union workers. They LOVE this. They're still getting paid, there's no doubt of that, but they are torturing the public. They should be trying to gain public sympathy, not punishing us.
The last time the TWU went on strike was 25 years ago. They shut down service for 10 days. They ground NYC to a halt. The masses had to walk across bridges and make all sorts of alternate plans to get to work. Tonight the Union promises to commence partial strikes and cut-offs of service to show they mean business. But the shenanigans have been going on for weeks already. Service slow downs. Buses not accepting fares. "Missing" trains. You name it. They've been doing it. The public has been punished through it all. The Union leaders will maintain that the MTA is forcing them to do this, but there is no excuse for lashing out at the people who pay their salaries.
So I'm curious to see how much worse things will get before these lazy jerks get what they want and go back to their usual level of crass laziness.
Unions were invented to help the working man and to get him what he deserves. Now Unions only inspire laziness and greediness. There is no reason for Unions in this country any more. I can't wait for a day when we get a powerful president in the Oval Office who will beat the unions into submission and bust them all once and for all. They are nothing more than legal racketeers and thugs whose time has passed. PHUKKOFF UNIONS!!!
