In the cinema: When a Stranger Calls (2006)

Hollywood has been running out of ideas for years now. It's fairly obvious by the numbers of various remakes, sequel and the such. Last Friday my wife and I went to see one of these:

When a Stranger Calls

Neither of us saw teh original, so we didn't really have an idea what it was supposed to be about, even though we've seen the trailer a couple times.

Without giving anything away, I'll say we both liked it. The movie builds up an enormous amount of suspense long before the scary stuff actually start. The theater was filled with kids and they seemed to LOVE that! A lot of yelling and screaming.

The ending was a little strange, and you could see the befuddled looks on people's faces as they walked out. It didn't ruin the movie, it was just odd.

I'd definitely say it's a good date movie and fun. I don't think it'll have teh same impact if you wait for dvd.
