Today I completed my 40 hour life insurance course and took my final exam. I completed the 100 questions in 30 minutes and scored a 99! The teacher even called me over to show me that the one I got wrong I had correct initially and CHANGED IT to the wrong answer. No biggie. I'll take the 99, no prob.
I hopped in my car and headed home. The course is given in Oakdale, LI, so that's a haul and, as usual, traffic was jammed up by the Meadowbrook. As I sat there I had a little time to reflect upon the events of the last couple weeks leading to this moment.
I started insurance class less than two weeks ago. It's a whole new language to learn and nothing like the accounting jargon I'm used to. In fact, there are similar terms that mean the complete opposite! So I struggled. And stressed. And worried. And got my nose to the grind stone. I spent every available moment studying and practicing. And it all paid off today.
But, as I sat in traffic, my thoughts were brought back to last week. After being totally discouraged with my lack of progress in class last Saturday I was also caught in traffic on my way home. It's was thick traffic that was moving but slowly. I was stuck behind a car that was driving slightly erratically, dropping to slow speeds, veering side to side, then speeding up only to go through that process over and over ad nauseum. So I did what I always do, look into the rearview mirror of that car to see who this jerk is.
And what did I see in that mirror? A lovely pair of breasts! If a mirror is properly adjusted, I should've seen the face of that driver. Evidently this woman doesn't bother with the mirror, though I can't imagine how. Instead she was providing a peep show of sorts to the drivers behind her, as she had a skimpy top on and the mirror was aimed directly down her cleavage.
So that broke my dark mood with some laughter as I drove by and headed off home for the evening. I guess that was a sign that things might look bleak at times, but if you look carefully, there can be something wonderful in it all.
Boobies. A 99 on my test. Wonderful indeed.
