May Day in NY

With all the immigrant issues going on in the US lately, there was a big protest announced for NYC today. A large part of the protest is for immigrants not to show up at work nor school to show the important role they play in everyone's everyday life. As a result many businesses are crippled today.

Oddly, it almost seems as though this city wanted to be fully prepared for this and have been rounding up the "illegals" and carting them off by the bus load. I heard that this is going on in Miami, too.

At any rate, I don't know why the legal immigrants are striking out at the system. They did things the right way. They have work. They are an important part of out system. No one said they're not.

I don't want to hear anyone say, "these people take our jobs." That's bullshit. All these people who are new to this land take the crappiest work to make ends meet. Things that the majority would never want to do. So unless you want to wash dishes in a restaurant, or any number of other thankless jobs across the land, don't complain about the jobs these people are willing to take.
