This was the THIRD TIME we decided to see the Phantom of the Opera. It was the first show we've ever seen and when we heard the rumor that they plan to shut it down, now that it has the record for the longest running show on Broadway, we want to make sure we get to see it enough times to last a lifetime.
We started the evening off at the Heartland Brewery on 43rd Street off of Broadway. Beer is their forte, but the food arrived on the table very quickly and it was delicious. We liked the place and plan to go back when we're not so pressed for time. It's located in a great place, as we only had to walk about a block to get to the Majestic Theater.
Once again we had Orchestra seats, but closer to the middle this time. Our location provided a perfect view of the stage.
Now, what can I say that I haven't said the last two times about this show? I know it already and obviously I love it to keep going back. Needless to say, everything about the show was perfect. Voices, acting, choreography, perfect. Sets are STILL stunning. It's as haunting and emotionally stirring as ever. So, since there really are no surprises for me anymore, I was able to tune in a little more to my surroundings. I listened for all the "oohs!" and "ahhhs!" of the people experiencing the Phantom for the first time. That made the experience even more magical, seeing how everyone was put in a trance by the music like I know I have been. In a trance, and in love with the greatest show ever.
If you haven't experienced The Phantom of the Opera in New York City, you must! If you should find yourself in this amazing city, be sure to the Phantom, and you'll be under his spell as well!

Here's a video from You Tube which is not with the cast we saw, but I just love these songs:
