You may have noticed that I was absent for a while. Well, I finally took a vacation after the stresses of tax season and insurance courses. This is the place we stayed at:

We flew via Air Jamaica. That was a first for us. Never took that airline before. The plane is about the same as the ones that JetBlue uses. Somehow it seemed much tighter in the seats. Perhaps it was the 400 lb. bearded woman sitting next to me that gave me that impression. Of course she slept slumped halfway over into my seat snoring. Isn't that nice?
Finally the ordeal ended. We landed. Once we made it through immigrations, we were swept into a delightful air conditioned office for the various Lido Resorts in Jamaica. They verified our reservations. Gave us some drinks. After a couple minutes we were escorted to a bus that dropped us off right at our hotel. As easy as that. No fuss. No muss.
We get to the hotel, the Trelawny Starfish. Check in was fast and smooth. We were in our room in no time. The first thing you notice is the complimentary booze rack over the refrigerator. You get one complimentary bottle of each of the following for your stay: Rum, Gin, Vodka, and Brandy.
The room felt warm. We cranked the a/c, and made sure the balcony was shut tight. We passed out for about 30 minutes. When we awoke, the room was still very warm. Stacey called the front desk and they moved us immediately to another room. The air conditioner was working better but the room didn't feel "cold." It never would over our entire stay, but we didn't spend a whole lot of time in there anyway.
The grounds were meticulously kept. The beach was spotless. The networks of about four pools were spotless. Keep in mind, this is a BIG resort. Not a dinky little motel. You can walk five feet without seeing members of the staff doing SOMETHING.
Pretty much, our stay went like this:
Wake up.
Breakfast.
Pool / Beach / Read / Booze it up.
Lunch.
Pool / Beach / Read / Booze it up.
Snack.
Pool / Beach / Read / Booze it up.
Back to room for a shower.
Booze.
Dinner / Booze.
Booze.
Back to room.
Booze.
Shower.
Booze / Booze / Booze.
Sleep.
Than start all over the next day.
And there will be more in the next Jamaica post...
