I posted this not too long ago:
I was more than a bit unhappy with the way that whole thing turned out. In fact I became rather steamed, but wrote a not-too-venomous blog entry on the situation to hash out my thoughts.
You know, seeing your thoughts in writing helps you focus on the real situations at hand. The deep rooted issues.
So while I was busy putting this episode behind me, my brother called me with a surprise twist. He wrote a parting email to Mark letting him know that it would've been great to work with him, but considering that it was Bob's idea (it's weird referring to myself in third person) in the first place, this might not work. My brother DID let Mark know that I did say that Mark would've been a dedicated and passionate ally to have in the crusade to save people's finances.
That changed Mark's entire tone. Shocked to hear about me saying GOOD things about him, Mark came around. And when my brother reported this to me, I got out of my "angry chair" and was preparing to let bygones be bygones.
It all came to a head last night on the Q28. The bus rounded the turn onto Francis Lewis Blvd, and Mark stepped up onto the road behemoth. I looked down the aisle. He looked up as he headed towards the rear of the bus where I sat. As he approached, I put out my hand in a reconciliatory gesture.
He accepted...
And we spoke like old times...
The way it should've always been...
Through it all, I think I always missed him.
It's good to have things back to normal.
