Another Animal’s self titled debut album is in stores today. The album features the single “Broken Again.” This is the first record for Another Animal, but not for the members of the band. Whit Crane from Ugly Kid Joe joins Tony Rombola, Lee Richards, Robbie Merrill and Shannon Larkin from Godsmack to become Another Animal. When Shannon and the guys from Godsmack needed a singer for their new band, he called on his old friend Whit Crane to step in. Shannon and Whit had previously played together on Ugly Kid Joe’s album Menace to Sobriety .
Another Animal’s name is a perfect description for what the new band has become. By incorporating elements of hard rock, metal, punk, and grunge, Another Animal is an eclectic tribute to the sounds the members grew up with. "It was so organic and fun to do," says Rombola. "It was a great experience because there were no preconceptions. We just did what we felt like in order to create some really cool songs without worrying about what audience it was for."
With the new record in stores today and the first show of their US tour kicking off tonight, Another Animal are playing the music they love and enjoying the ride. For more information on the tour or to check out the bands single, “Broken Again,” go to the Another Animal Myspace page.
