On Broadway: A Bronx Tale

I got one of those emails with deals on Broadway shows a couple weeks ago. As always I forwarded it to my wife. I was shocked when she emailed me back immediately.

"I love that movie, A Bronx Tale," she wrote, "is that show based on it?"

I informed her that I had been hearing about it on the radio for at least a week. Chazz Palminteri was saying how he was bringing his show back home to the stage. I was curious, but I never saw the movie.

Since she loved the movie, she got together with her brother and arranged a night out for my birthday, dinner and this show. She insisted that I get the DVD and watch it beforehand, and I did. It was good prep work.

We saw it on October 30th. There are special rules for this one man show. The main ones being, no admittance after 8:00 PM, and no intermission. That takes a little preparation, you want to make sure you're there early, and you don't want to need to use the bathroom during the show.

My wife secured some great seats about seven rows from the stage in the left orchestra section. The show started at 8:05. There stood Chazz Palminteri and he got started... and didn't stop until is was all done about 90 minutes later.

The show can be summed in one word -- EXTRAORDINARY! Chazz brought 18 different roles to life in this show, and did them all brilliantly.

There's nothing else to say. The show is great. You must see it if you can. It's in a limited run, so try to get in and experience it for yourself.
