I'm not writing too much this week. I'm just sharing a recent pic of Snappy taken by Mrs. Bax0jayz. She's using an Olympus FE-180 digital camera at highest rez. The subject is Snappy, a red eared slider or RES for short. I've had her about eleven years already. When I got her she was the size of a half dollar. Now she's about five pounds. We estimate she's at least 12-13 years old. She's been laying eggs since she was about three or four and has laid eggs nearly every year since.
I call this post "The Eye" because Snappy had an interesting quirk about her eyes. They were a dark turquoise blue when I first got her. But if you watched her, the colors in her eyes would flash from green and back. These days her eyes look like a golden pea soup color, but I have seen the shocks of blue reappear now and then. Absolutely amazing!
