Lost time?

I feel like I stepped into an episode of The X-Files. Within a day both of the watches that I wear in rotation to work stopped working. I assume it's just dead batteries, but it's weird that two completely different watches, and purchased at different times should expire in unison like that. it reminded me of the pilot episode of the X-Files when Mulder was makign a big deal out of lost time. Okay, they lost time, what did that mean? Were they abducted? It was never established.

What I do know, I need to get some batteries.
