Ferretorium news from Washington State

FERRETORIUM TILE
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The Ferretorium is now TILED!!!!! Wow...is cleanup easier and it smells sooooooooo good in there now.

ENORMOUS THANKS TO THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE :
Rees, Tory, Allen, Rachael, Casey, Kelsey, Mikel, Blaine, Marcy, Kristen, Linda, Roger, Andy, Tammy, Michael, ADAM (professional floor installer).

These people helped move cages, drawers, washer, dryer, remove indoor/outdoor carpet, setup annex so 14 cages could fit in a 12' x 16' room, scraped the cement floor, moved the tiles, glue, stripping into the house, put together cupboards for Ferretorium, put the gates back up, fed, watered, cleaned potty boxes, 14 cages of room service were done (by Kristen & Rachael), ferret playtime and Adam did a marvelous job of laying the tile. WOW....You are ALL appreciated!! (Some of the precious people were here 2 and/or 3 days...like all weekend---appreciated commitment)

NNNOOOOOWWWWWW. Adam will be finishing the annex, bathroom, hallway & kitchen on the 15th of March (if he doesn't get called into work). The carpet will have to be pulled up, cages moved, refrigerator & stove moved, toilet pulled and some various items also moved. We will be getting the rooms ready on Friday, the 14th and will start at 6:30pm. If you have time and would like to help, it sure would be appreciated!!! Got Muscles? We need you!!!

Please send an email to let us know if you would be available to help. Thank you!

CITY LICENSE
We are over halfway done with the application for a "city business license". I need to type it and get 15 folders made (15 copies of everything is to be made). All of us at the shelter thank all of you that wrote support letters for us for the "city license" application. Your willingness and caring is just sooooooo appreciated: Wayne & Shirley, Judy, Brandie, Gail, Marilyn, Teri, Ellana, Lisa, Alice, Becky, Teresa, Grant, Kim, Caprice, Sarah, Daniel, Karen, Renee.

One thing is holding us back and that is the $350 needed just to apply for the license (again, no guarantees). The "dooker" account has $3.00 in it right now ...and ... we also need $125 for medicine. We will be able to apply as soon as we have the $350. If you feel led to help, just go to the website (www.washingtonferret.com) and click on paypal (top left corner) or send a check, or cash. (If you use paypal, could you put $3 extra in...they take $ out of the money put in.) Thanks. If we had the $ in by the end of this week or the beginning of next week, we could get the ball rolling for the city license hearing. Again, thank you!

EVENING MAGAZINE
Evening Magazine did a story on the shelter & the plight of ferrets. They will (hopefully) let us know when it will be shown. Hopefully it won't be so chopped up...hope, hope, hope. (We're just "tivo'ing" ALL the evening magazines..just in case). Will send out info as soon as we know.

The shelter also has a new addition....STATISTICS. It shows our stats up to the end of February. This provides continual information regarding the #'s at the shelter.

SEATTLE TIMES
An article in the Seattle Times (includes a # of shelters in this area):

VOLUNTEERS
Three new volunteers are at the shelter: Rachael & Kelsey are high school seniors that are doing "community service" for graduation. Juliette has had ferrets at different times in her life. She is also a friend of Teri (Ferret Whisperer). Welcome aboard!! You are appreciated.

DONATIONS
Ilaria (from Italy), Wendy, Robert, Tina (from Florida), Cindy, Cheryl & Jaszmine, Lilliam, & Cyndi all donated to the shelter during the month of February and March (so far).

Thank you so much for your generosity and support. It's all for the "dookers"!!

SPONSORS
Jamie is a Sponsor for Billy, Shadow & Lunar.
Kathy is a Sponsor for Sweet George.
Thank you special people for supporting these precious fuzzies. You can see the fuzzies they are sponsoring and a pic of one of the sponsors at:

"We leave no footprint on this community, except caring".
My husband, Michael, came up with this saying to say when the presentation is made for the city license. Cool, huh?!!!!! He came up with this after we were asked by the code enforcer if the neighbors have complained, if there is any smell, or noise (not unless they are in the house when Denise is chasing ferrets at playtime......LOLOLOL).
