On DVD: Live Free or Die Hard

I promised myself I was NOT going to see this movie. Years ago Bruce Willis was on my list of celebs whose movies I refused to see. Unfortunately, I also happen to enjoy his movies, so it's been tough to stick to that promise.

So guess what? It's a Die Hard movie. Shit gets blown up and people get their asses kicked. That's what happens in these movies. IF you're expecting some fine prose, keep dreaming.

For what it is, this was a ton of fun to watch. It's so improbable, but that's what Hollywood is all about. There are several clever characters, and the villain, played by Timothy Oliphant was awesome. Maggie Q as the hot chick who kicks ass was pretty easy on the eyes, but really pushing the limits of how far a movie can bullshit the viewer. She took several good tolchoks to the rot and kept coming back for more.

While this was possibly the most far-fetched thing I've seen that wasn't classified science fiction, I'd still have to go with this being a movie worth renting. It's a ton of fun!
